
Quin Snyder is one of the multi-talented coaches whose great works have paid off; thus keeping them in the limelight for a long time. He is currently the head coach of the Salt Lake-based National Basketball Association (NBA) team known as the Utah Jazz.
Prior to his career at Utah, the coach also worked with other NBA teams, including the Atlanta Hawks; Los Angeles Clippers and Los Angeles Lakers, among others. The NBA coach was born as Quin Price SnyderMercer Island is located in Washington on October 30, 1966. He was born to American parents, Gary Snyder and his wife, Tonette Snyder. Quin has two brothers, Nate Snyder and Matt Snyder, with whom he was raised. His nationality is American while he has a white ethnicity. As he was growing up, Quin attended Mercer Island High School, where he twice became High School Player of the Year. He led his high school team to win the state championship title in 1985; while being named a McDonald’s All-American for his magnificent performances.
While in college, Quin attended Duke University where he finished his college career with the school’s basketball team. Upon joining the Blue Devils, Quin served as a point guard from 1985 to 1989; thus leading the team to the final four in its second, third and third years. At the end of his career, Snyder was selected by the American academy team. After graduating, he received his bachelor’s degree with a major in political science and philosophy. He went on to earn his JD certificate from Duke Law School and an MBA from Duke Business School in 1995.
His NBA coaching career
He began his coaching career during his graduate school, Quin Snyder joined the Los Angeles Clippers of the NBA as an assistant coach in 1992. After gaining experience in the professional league, Quin later served as an administrative assistant of the Duke basketball team. Upon completing graduate school, Quin was promoted to assistant coach in 1995. Two years later, he was named assistant head coach at Duke in 1997. While there, he helped the team reach the Elite Eight in NCAA competition in 1994 and 1998. His team also became ACC champions in 1999.
Leaving Duke University, Quin was drafted to the University of Missouri basketball team in 1999. He replaced outgoing coach Norm Stewart and his career with the team spanned seven years, from 1999 to 2006. During his career, Quin helped the Tigers enter the NCAA Basketball Tournament four times; He therefore left his position in 2006 while maintaining a record of 126 -91 for more than seven seasons.
From 2007 to 2010, Quin Snyder was with the NBADevelopment League where he worked as the head coach of the Austin Toros of the G-League. During his time with the team, Quin received the Dennis Johnson Coach of the Year award while leading the team to the semi-finals in the league. During the 2010/11 season, he worked with coach Doug Collins, when he was responsible for overseeing player development for the Philadelphia 76ers. The following season, he served as an assistant coach for the Los Angeles Lakers under Mike Brown.
Quin Snyder also went to the Russian Professional Basketball League where he was the head coach of CSKA Moscow in the 2012/13 season. He helped the team reach the Euroleague semi-finals. At the end of the season, Quin was recruited by the Atlanta Hawks, where he worked as an assistant coach during the 2013/14 season. Since 2014, Quin Snyder has been the head coach of the Utah Jazz.

Quin Snyder came from a middle-class family background, however, he is not the only athlete in his family. His father was also a high school baseball coach and he completed his youth career at the University of Washington, where he earned a joint basketball and baseball scholarship. Interestingly, Snyder is also a married man and a proud father of three children. In the meantime, he married twice; his first marriage was to Helen Redwine and the second to Amy Snyder. Quin and Hélène had a long term relationship and in 1999; they tied the knot. At the time, Quin was working as Missouri’s head coach. After seven years of marriage, the couple separated. They had a son named Owen Snyder.
Shortly after their divorce, Quin also found an amazing wife named Amy. The duo dated for about four years before walking down the aisle in 2010. Together, they have two amazing kids — a son, Wyatt, and a daughter, Anika Snyder. Snyder has been living a wonderful married life and there are no signs of marital issues or divorce yet.
