BIOGRAPHY
Ramón Antonio Esteban Gómez de Valdés y Castillo, known simply as Ramón Valdés, was a Mexican actor and comedian, born on September 2, 1923, in Mexico City, son of Rafael Gómez and Guadalupe Castillo, Ramón was the brother of the also actors and comedians Germán Valdés “Tin Tan”, Manuel “El loco” Valdés and Antonio “El mouse” Valdés.
When he was two years old, his family moved from Mexico City to Ciudad Juárez, in Chihuahua, where his brothers would begin their artistic career. It is alongside his brother Tin Tan, with whom Ramón starred in several films, in the 40s and 50s.
But it would be when the actor and screenwriter, Roberto Gómez Bolaños “Chespirito”, invited him to be part of the cast of a new television program that he was producing. In 1968, Valdés joined the cast of Los supergenios de la Mesa Cuadrada , a program that. In 1972, he would become Chespirito . Ramón would become part of the comedy El Chavo del Ocho , where he would play the role of Don Ramón, a neighborhood tenant characterized by being lazy and grumpy. In the comedy El Chapulín Colorado, Valdés would play roles such as Super Sam, Rasca Buches, Pirata Alma Negra and Peterete. In 1979, the actor announced his departure from the program, in an action surrounded by rumors and alleged confrontations with the cast. However, he would return, in 1981, in the role of Don Ramón, for one last year.
Ramón Valdés died on August 9, 1988, a victim of stomach cancer.
